But a dandelion seed

I am but a dandelion seed
Untethered for the very first time.
I know not where the warm breeze leads
But the view from up here is sublime.

I miss the company of the others from my stem
Alone for the very first time, hanging on the wind’s hem.

Perhaps I’ll never visit the corners of the earth they’ll dot
Perhaps I’ll be the only of my kind to root
For where the warm breeze leads, I know not
I only know that I’m en route

But maybe only my journey will be solitary
Find a bustling place to land, cometary

I hope that I land somewhere full of heart
I’ll even settle for the crack of a side walk
I hope we’ll root in places far apart
And dot the world with our wishful stalks
